Daniel W. Murphy, M.D.
Dr. Murphy received his graduate degree at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, and completed a residency at North Carolina Baptist Hospital and a fellowship at Bowman Gray School of Medicine of Wake Forest University. He was elected to the Membership-Phi Beta Kappa.
Dr. Murphy is Board Certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine. He has been in practice since 1987 and his professional affiliations include American Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition, American College of Gastroenterology, American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, American College of Physicians, and American Medical Association.
He served as president of the medical Staff of Forsyth Medical Center and is a member of the following committees: Colon Cancer Subcommittee at Forsyth Regional Cancer Center, Novant Triad Region Board, Forsyth Medical Center, Physician Strategy Council, Novant Health Triad Region, Physician Leadership Summit, Forsyth Medical Center, Physician Specialty Council, Novant Health.
Dr. Murphy also is a consultant as Investigator to Piedmont Medical Research in Clinical Trials involving areas of constipation, duodenal ulcer, dyspepsia, gastric ulcer, GERD, heartburn, irritable bowel syndrome, and ulcerative colitis.
